I'm often asked about things I'm going to list below. Everything has been mentioned in my journals at least once but I'm going to gather everything here now.
Q: Can I use your art to decorate my blog/Tumblr/Pinterest/Facebook/private page
A: Yes and I'm very glad if you are about to share my art with the others through your page but only if I'm credited. If I see my image on any page without a credit nor link to my page, I will ask you to take it down.
Additional note: my photos cannot be used as avatars/profile pictures but if you'd like to share them on Facebook as an art, go ahead, I will welcome that
Q: I'm running a roleplaying blog/site, can I use photos of you or your models to portray my characters?
A: No. There was a time I was ok with this but it caused confusion many times so avatars, roleplay games or profile pictures using images of myself or my models aren't possible now.
Q: Something in your gallery has inspired me. Can I edit your image or use it as a part of photo-manipulaion?
A: My answer will always be „no”. My gallery isn't a stock and I don't like seeing my images altered on other pages. There are plenty of stock accounts here on DA that are designed and created just for such usage. I am sure you will find something good for your projects there.
Q: I would like to use your image as a painting/ drawing reference. Can I?
A: Yes, I will always say „yes” for this kind of creativity. But, like in other cases, I would like to be credited as a source of your reference picture. I'd also love to see your creation but it's not necessary.
Q: I have a school project/ presentation, can I use your image to illustrate it?
A: Sure! But just like in other cases, put a link to my account under the image you use. And good luck with the project
Q: Can I make a layout that contains your image?
A: If it's for your private site-yes,but provide a credit line including my name and a link to my site. I'd also need to know which image you'd like to take as not all of them are available. If you plan it to be commercial write me a note with details of your project and we can discuss everything.
Q: Can I use your image for commercial purpose? (e.g covers, banners, ads etc)
A: You can purchase a license, yes. If you're interested in buying an art from me, please contact me via note for further information. Some of my images are already sold or are available to purchase only through photo libraries I work for as a contributor. If any of the images you want to use is available there, I will direct you to a page from where you can make a transaction.
Q: I am a writer, can you make a book cover for me?
A: With pleasure! I really love working with other artists. Contact me via note or e-mail (email@example.com) with all details of your project and we can start cooperation at once.
And just a side note: I am seriously considering adding watermarks. I've been always avoiding it as I think it looks just ugly and destroys the aesthetic quality of the photo or any art. Small watermark would sound like a good solution but it's really not a big deal to remove such thing unless it's placed in the middle of the photo so that nothing can be cut off.
I'm not going to change anything in the way of preparing my photos for now. I only ask all the visitors who want to share something from this gallery on their blogs, private sites and all the other social media stuff: respect the copyrights and write the source of the image and its author, it's not much.
